The best time for photography tour in Bhutan is from February – April & October – December. The sky will be clear and blue and the day will be warm and sunny. Spring is also time for colorful festivals where people from all walks of life meet. The valleys and mountains bloom with wild flowers during spring season and autumn is the harvesting season.
Thimphu, Paro and Punakha Tour Itinerary
After one of great scenic high landings at Paro we’ll stop to photograph Paro Dzong. (Dzong = monastery fortress). Lunch at hotel, with views of Tiger’s Nest monastery. Afternoon options include the town square, people & giant prayer wheel for motion blur images, & blue hour @ Paro Dzong. Drive to Thimphu with photo stops along the way. Thimphu is one of the last capital cities in the world without traffic lights, where traffic is managed by police in white gloves!
Thimphu’s Markets and Craft Shops: Capture the vibrant life in Thimphu’s markets and traditional craft shops.
